TT #11

13 ways to tell if you live in California:

1. Your coworker has 8 body piercings and none are visible.
2. You make over $300,000 and still can't afford a house.
3. You take a bus and are shocked at two people carrying on a conversation in English.
4. Your child's 3rd-grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Flower.
5. You can't remember . . Is pot illegal?
6. You've been to a baby shower that has two mothers and a sperm donor.
7. You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian.
8. A really great parking space can totally move you to tears.
9. Gas costs $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the U.S.
10. Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment.
11. It's barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH."
12. The Terminator is your Governor.
13. If you drive illegally, they take your driver's license. If you're here illegally, they want to give you one.

This was very funny, though the piercings one did strike me as quite true.
to buy a house, you need to move to Arizona.

this is sooooooo funny. i forget sometimes that the south isn't necessarily the oddest place to live. Actually - i might fit right in in California...

I can't imagine spending as much as you have to on housing there. We are a single income family and I make WAY less than that and we have a house, pool and a huge lot!

Great list! I'm from L.A. and all of these ring too true! Have a great week!

As a native Californian I identified with everything on this list. OMG you made me laugh and made me homesick! lol

Every now and then, I want to move to California (Bay Area, though). And then I see lists like this and think that I can ride my bike around THESE hills just as well, if not more so 'cause our streets are wider...

Happy TT! Thanks for visiting!!

This was great, I got a good chuckle...which is always helpful in the morning. I have relatives that live in Cali...and I cannot believe the house prices, Vegas is getting just as bad, (where I am from)...the west is going crazy with inflated housing prices.

Nice! It's like "you might be a redneck" for Californians.

LOL! The piercings thing is something I've never quite wrapped my mind around -- just can't see the point of getting piercings where most people can't see them. But different strokes and all that! :-D

Happy TT, and thanks for visiting my blog!

OMG this was so funny! The $300,000 and still not being able to afford a home kind of sucks the big one though. Great TT list!

TOO FUNNY!! I don't know anyone from California.... but I want to now :)

Way too true! Some of those (notably the house comment) are why I no longer live in CA.

Great TT!

I've passed the test. But I don't think that's a good thing.

Oh so funny! I'm sure glad I don't live in CA!

ROFLMAO!!! This is so true. Every single word. I love California! *grin* The irony is that there really are very conservative parts of California. It's the coastal cities where you see this and of course with Hollywood that's what gets played on the news.

But I'm a Berkeley grad and I really adored the diversity, brilliant colors and vitality that I associate with California. And I can't wait to go back home this summer. (Though the traffic, high gas prices, and ridiculous housing market do suck.)

Happy TT and thanks for stopping by.

Hi Lori, what a super list, and funny. Want to know something? California, aside form the Terminator...sounds a lot like Canada!!!!!

I'm serious!!!

Especially Canadian cities.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and reading my review of The Shangri-La Diet. You asked if it's really working? my god is it ever.

I'm up to 3 pounds lost in exactly one week...without ever feeling uncomfortable or counting calories or anything.

My skin feels like silk...or even better my elbows and knewws and feet are soft, and I swear it looks like I have less wrinkles. Really!!!!

Plus, I don't feel hungry. My appaetite has completely changed. I have enjoyed my meals but not overeaten.

It's a fascinating premeise for a diet, and I would actually classify it as a new way of looking at nutrition if anything.

Hey great to visit your blog, hope to see you again
Cheers,
Candy

Here is my TT list...I'm a little late thsi week:
