Thirteen Things I wanted to be when I grew up.

1. Dancer - Heck I still love to dance.

2. Nurse - Well, Im in the medical field and I may still fulfill this one.

3. Mother - Im blessed to be a mother of two beautiful boys.

4. Singer - OK...this one takes a little talent.

5. Teacher - Then I realized I would need the patience of a saint...not for me.

6. Wife - Been there, done that twice.

7. Cashier - Did this one as a teen. I dont know what the big deal was.

8. Vampire Slayer - This would be fun if there actually were vampires!

9. World Traveler - Maybe some day.

10. Lifeguard - I was on the swim team in school...thats the closest I got.

11. Ballerina - I weigh more than 90 pounds.

12. Waitress - I have no idea why I wanted to do this either. This is a tough job.

13. Reporter - I always wanted to interview people with a microphone and feel important.

I wanted to be a mother - mum of one boy.
A wife - been there 3 times now (I never learn).
An actress & nurse - nope
And for years I wanted to be a social worker or probation officer still don't know why though it just appealed to me.

I wanted to be a teacher and a singer - I don't have the patience to teach, I realized that once I had kids and if I sang the earth would shrivel up and die...yeah it's that bad.

I have been a cashier and what is up with that, it seems like a good idea when your a kid. Even when I got my first job I was thrilled to scan items...that didn't last long!

Very funny about the ballerina!

I wanted to be a ballerina, teacher, flight attendant, and mommy. Two out of four is not bad (teacher and mommy)! Happy TT!

Oh I love this idea for a list Lori. I'd love to be a dancer and a world traveler. I needn't worry.

I remember wanting to be an astronaut when I was a kid. By the way, Susan Helene is right. From what I hear, you can get a clove of garlic fairly cheap.

Thanks for the kind words at our TT. When I was a kid, I wanted to act, sing and marry Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin.

Thanks for visiting my TT. I am glad you could find a few you liked. Feel free to borrow as many as you want.

I always wanted to be a Mama first and foremost and after a long IF battle have great kidlets. Thanks for reminding me to say a little thank you prayer for them today.

Cute idea for a TT! Let's see -- we share #4, #5, and #13. I also wanted to be a librarian because of those cool date stamps. Now that librarians scan books, that job is less attractive to me.

That's a great list! I awnted to be a flight attendant too:)
Mines up as well!

You could always use your blog to interview people. It can be fun!

Happy TT and thanks for stopping by. Don't write off the books on my list just because I didn't like them. You and I might have very different tastes in books.

I used to want to be a singer and a world traveler -- I like to sing, but I'm too shy to sing in public, and as for world traveling -- well, like you said, maybe someday! :)

Happy T13, and thanks for visiting mine!

I started off with singer, moved on to tap dancer, then grew into the idea of a reporter - then tragically realized that I hate the news. Then I changed everything to photographer. Am still working on that last one. :)

LOVE the Vampire part!

Makes me hungry somehow....

I always wanted to be a singer, but sadly lack of talent got in my way.

Happy TT.

I wanted to be a millionaire when I grew up. Not quite there yet :-) Thanks for stopping by my TT post!

I can see why a child would want to be a waitress. Every time you see them as a child they are bringing you something you want and you watch your parents give them money.

From the child's perspective, why wouldn't you want a job where you brought people stuff and they smiled and paid you?

Very glad I saw your list, it inspired a future one of my own. :)

Just one thing, number 8...am I the only girl that wanted to be the vampire as opposed to the hunter?

Happy TT

Fun list - I wanted to be a doctor for a long time. Then I think I realized I had to like math and science and who knows what else. I became a teacher - which was also something I had wanted to be.

I also missed out on the dream of being a ballerina and a singer - I guess the vocal chords and co-ordination had a hand in that.

Anonymous said...

I wanted to sing too, but people run screaming and cover their ears when I sing. lol!

Happy TT!

Now that you are a blogger, you can mark off reporter. You are part of the great pajama media crowd. Thanks for visiting my TT about Ireland, and please stop back and read the whole trip log (link on the left column).

It's so much fun to dream about what you could be when everything's still possible.... and fun to look back at those day, too.

Great idea for a TT. When I was really little I wanted to be a teacher or scientist, but for most of my life I wanted to be an astronaut.

Thanks for visiting my TT! :-)

Weird how things turn out. I never wanted to be a teacher and that was my profession before SAHM. Thanks for checking out my list of 13 tunes. I'm a fan of Ozzy...but just can't stand that Ironman. ;-) Happy 13!

impwork said...

Wow - a 13 I could never do. I only ever wanted to be one thing when I grew up and somehow I didn't end up doing that.

Interesting list - reminded me of Weird Al looking for big dancers for a video thinking they might find one or two and having to do auditions when they got hundreds. I wonder how many big balerinas there are out there?

Great list!
The only things I wanted to be and never became and I regret, is a teacher.

I love kids.

Great idea for TT! I was a cashier and a vampire slayer. The latter was more fun.
