He's thinking of Mom and apple pie. What else? But, judging from his pose I'd have to say he's got a little Captain in him. (That joke won't be funny if you haven't seen the television commercials.)
Hopefully, his attention is on staying safe and getting himself and his comrades back home in one piece.
