TT #83

13 words of wisdom for women.

1. If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.

2. If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.

3. Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.

4. Make him miss you sometimes...when a man always knows where you are, and your always readily available to him- he takes it for granted.

5. Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that's not meant to be.

6. You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is a two-way street.

7. Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.

8. If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can't "be friends." A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend.

9. Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.

10.Don't stay because you think "it will get better." You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.

11.The only person you can control in a relationship is you.

12.Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women. He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant, why would he treat you any differently?

13. If he cheated with you, he'll cheat ON you.

Good advice, though they happy equally as advice to men about women. I was always falling victim to 6 and 10 before I came to my senses.

Great advice Lori. I especially like the second one - basically you can't keep him if he wants to go. Of course there are entire industries designed to 'keep your man' sigh.

13 is soooo true! Thanks for this. I have made the mistake of hoping for different or being blind to what's in front of me. This is a reminder not to be that way.

Oh, Lori this is the best advice I've read in a long time. I love that compromise is a two way street!

Number 3 is right on. Nothing makes me sicker than a woman who makes excuses for a bad man! Great tt and have a happy one!

Amen. Amen. and Amen. I wish I had gotten this when I was in my teens and early 20's! THIS is exactly what I share with my sister, who is 19 and absolutely clueless.

Happy TT Everyone!

But also, a good relationship takes 100% from BOTH parties. Unluckily, 100% always feels like a little more when you're the one giving it.

Sometimes you've just got to take the plunge. Yes, it can end in disaster, but I got married 6 months after meeting my future wife, during which time we'd actually spent about a fortnight together in snatched weekends as we lived hundreds of miles apart.
Neither of us really knew each other, other than we just 'knew'. That was over 31 years ago, and we're still going strong.

Great advice...too bad many of the people who read it will be wishing they had that advice 5, 10 or 15 years ago!!!

Oh, yeah. I totally agree with most of that. The friends thing is great. There were a few times back in the day . . .

Wish I'd had this list 30 years ago.

Those were good and I here you about the compermise. My husband and I have issue with that one and I have to remind him it isn't always about his way.
